At The West Midlands Cat Clinic we are able to carry out a wide portfolio of surgeries, using the highly equipped facilities at 387 Veterinary Centre. These include a sterile theatre, dental operating facilities, prep room and diagnostic suites. Visit our Standards page to find out about our excellent standards of care in theatre.
We perform complex surgeries on-site in addition to routine procedures such as castrates and spays. Advanced surgeries include soft tissue surgeries such as mass or tumour removal, diaphragm repair (a typical road traffic accident injury), bladder stone removal, foreign body removal, wound repair and thyroidectomies. We also perform total ear canal ablation and lateral BULLA osteotomies as well as ventral BULLA osteotomies. Our on-site orthopaedic procedures include fracture repair (pelvis, jaw, radius, ulna, tibia) and dislocation stabilisation. We’re also very proud of our on-site Dentistry service.
Our clinical Director, Hamish Duncan, is an Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Medicine and is trained in various orthopaedic procedures and has over 20 years’ small animal surgical experience. And we’re also delighted to have Carlos Boix Boente at the clinic, who holds a postgraduate certificate in Small Animal Surgery, as part of our vet team. In his previous post, Carlos was responsible for carrying out soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries referred from other practices within his veterinary group. His training and experience enables him to perform many surgeries that would normally need to be referred to a specialist referral centre.
