Staying hydrated

It’s set to be hot for the next couple of weeks and at the moment, it’s looking like temperatures could soar into the mid 30s at the beginning of next week. Make sure your cat has lots of access to cool areas in the house and garden and plenty of shade. A frozen water bottle wrapped in a tea towel and put somewhere your cat likes to rest is a good cooling option. Giving cats plenty of opportunity to drink water is extra important when it’s hot. Some cats love drinking from running water, so it may be the perfect time to invest in a cat water fountain to avoid having to stand by the tap! Fountains also provide a water oasis so cats have the choice drink from the wider bowl as well as from the moving stream of water. We’re now selling cat fountains in practice so do pop in and see us!
