Keeping cool

It’s hot hot hot! Make sure to leave lots of freshly filled water bowls dotted about for your feline friend and access to plenty of shade. Don’t forget pet-friendly suncream on tips of ears and noses if your cat is white or light in colour and is likely to venture outside.

This is a brilliant way to help cats keep cool and entertained at the same time! Fill a shallow receptacle (a tray, a bowl or even a clean litter tray) with a little bit of water and add ping pong balls or plastic balls. As they float, your cat can bat them about and try to scoop them out with their paws. Yellow, green and blue are particularly attractive colours to cats if you’re buying new. Your feline friend can also drink the water if they get thirsty playing!
