Is your feline friend a little bit too cuddly?

The charity International Cat Care estimates that between a third and 50% of cats in the UK are overweight or obese. Excess weight can creep on for a number of reasons. We may overfeed our feline friends or they may overeat; they may have become less active; perhaps they have been neutered and their diet hasn’t been adjusted appropriately to take into account their slower metabolism; or maybe they are a breed predisposed to retaining weight.

Cats with an ideal body weight have an obvious waist when looking from the side or from above. You should be able to feel their ribs and spine through light tough with the palm of your hand but not be able to see them. How does you pet measure up?
