Compulsory microchipping for cats

You may have heard on the news this morning that, in a raft of animal welfare improvements, the government will be making it compulsory for cats to be microchipped. It is already compulsory for dogs to be microchipped, following legislation that was introduced in 2016.

Having helped to reunite many lost cats with their owners through the microchip scheme we think this is a great idea. Click on this link to read all about one of our team’s most remarkable lost and found stories, of Phoebe the cat who was reunited with her family after two and a half years!

We’ll keep you updated on the new microchipping legislation as more details are announced. If you would like to get your cat microchipped in the meantime, we can do this in a clinic appointment or if your cat is already coming in for a surgical procedure. Give us a ring on 01922 411755 for more information or to book.
