Be collar savvy

We admitted a cat yesterday that had been seen wandering for some time and was brought in by a local cat rescue charity. The poor girl was wearing a cat collar that had become lodged under one of her forelegs. We were able to cut off the collar in consult, but it had rubbed a nasty sore in her armpit.

This is a stark reminder that, if you prefer your cat to wear a collar, you specifically choose one that is a quick release. Quick release collars will bear a certain amount of pressure but will then automatically open to avoid causing any harm to the wearer.
